colourlovers.com is a website where you can search color families by theme. I thought while I was on the same theme as the previous post, I wanted to post about this as well. It is such a good resource. We used it this semester to find a color theme for speak magazine, and the options were really endless. It helps a lot to have the color schemes laid out like this, because you can see how the colors interact with each other.

Dafont.com

This link leads to a website that is a great source for Graphic Designers. Dafont.com is a website where you can search different fonts by type, category or theme. There are so many great options, mostly listed by users of the site. I thought it was a resource that should be shared.

Street Art

This website has a pretty cool display of original street art. I found it interesting the things these artists will do, and how they work within the existing environment to create these pieces of work.

Herbert W. Franke essay

This article was easier to read than the last few that have been assigned. Although he was very wordy, it was interesting to hear someone talk so openly about the possibilities of using computers in art. At the time, I'm sure there were many who opposed this idea, but it seems that Franke embraced this new media.
At one point he compares the way a computer processes, to how a human processes, and I thought that was very interesting. We build our machines to be like us and process like us, but now they might even be smarter than us. I like the idea of using the computer as an art form, as that is what I'm going to school for: new media design. It's really interesting how far computers have come and how much we have evolved to keep up with the other. It's as if you don't know which is evolving faster, the computer or the human.
